Miguel Alatorre is the Founder and Executive Director of UNIDOS Network Inc., where he leads efforts to empower underserved communities through economic development, education, and workforce opportunities. Under his leadership, UNIDOS serves as a vital bridge between historically overlooked communities and government agencies, mobilizing resources to foster long-term prosperity. In addition to his role at UNIDOS, Miguel serves as President of the Board for Fossil Free California, Vice Chair of the Kettleman City Foundation, and a member of the Environmental Justice Advisory Council (EJAC) for the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), where he helps shape statewide environmental policy. He is also a small business owner, co-owning both a car detailing and consulting business.
Born and raised in Kettleman City, Miguel has been an environmental justice advocate for over 20 years. His activism began at 13 when he founded Kids Protecting Our Planet (KPOP), a youth-led organization focused on environmental action. Since then, he has played a key role in securing clean drinking water, reducing diesel truck emissions, and opposing the expansion of the Kettleman Hills Waste Management Landfill. Coming from a long line of activists, Miguel continues his family’s legacy of fighting for justice and ensuring that future generations have the resources they need to thrive. Outside of organizing, he enjoys playing multiple instruments and spending time with his two huskies, Apollo and KC.

Brian Cadena is a dedicated community organizer, environmental justice advocate, and the co-founder of UNIDOS Network, an organization focused on uplifting labor workers and improving living conditions for underrepresented communities. As board secretary of the Kettleman City Foundation, he helps oversee programs that provide vital resources to his hometown. Brian is also a skilled graphic designer, using his creative talents to amplify advocacy efforts through impactful media and outreach materials.
With years of experience in grassroots organizing, Brian has worked extensively in voter outreach, community engagement, and environmental justice campaigns. As a former air monitoring technician and organizer with environmental justice organizations, he has helped hold polluters accountable, educate residents, and push for stronger policies to protect public health. He has spoken at government hearings, participated in lobbying efforts, and remains deeply involved in advocating for frontline communities.
A first-generation high school graduate from Kettleman City, Brian initially pursued a career in welding before discovering his passion for social and environmental justice. As a first-generation college graduate, he uses his bilingual skills to bridge critical gaps in environmental justice efforts.
For over a decade, Yovanny has been a strong voice for his hometown of Kettleman City, a community impacted by groundwater contamination, pesticide drift, and proximity to a hazardous waste facility. His advocacy work began at an early age—participating in protests at six, joining youth-led environmental efforts by eleven, and co-leading a community health survey at twenty to highlight persistent public health concerns. His family's experiences with severe health conditions, including cancer and leukemia, have further fueled his commitment to environmental justice.

He has worked with organizations like the Dolores Huerta Foundation and Communities for a New California (CNC), registering voters, conducting community surveys, and advocating for fair district maps. His efforts contributed to Fresno Unified School District adopting an equitable redistricting plan. Mark also played a key role in the successful "No on Measure G" campaign, which prevented the privatization of Fresno’s waste services, protecting public resources for residents.
